On show at the Festival of Arts & Crafts in Newbury

Earlier this year, I decided to get more involved in my local art scene. I submitted two pieces to The Festival of Arts & Crafts at The Base in Greenham, Newbury back in April, and I was thrilled when they got accepted.

This is the first exhibition I've been a part of since 2015. It was a bit nerve-wracking, but I'm really glad I went for it. I dropped by on the first day to check out the space and see the other artists' work. It was awesome to see such a variety of art on display.

It was also the first time I got to see complete strangers reacting to my work. I didn't go up to anyone to ask their thoughts, but I was happy just watching how people interacted with the space and all the art.

Even though I've been to plenty of exhibits, this was my first time experiencing it as an artist with work on display. It's a unique and rewarding experience, even if nothing sells. It gives you a chance to see what grabs the audience's interest and attention.

Participating in The Festival of Arts & Crafts has only encouraged my passion for creating and sharing more. The experience of seeing my work displayed and witnessing the audience's reactions has been invaluable. It has encouraged me to continue pursuing opportunities in the art community and to keep challenging myself creatively. I look forward to future exhibitions and the connections I will make along the way.
